|Manga Debut||Memoire 1: In The Event of Rusty Hopes|
Thomas Berneux is a Vampire from Jun Mochizuki's The Case Study of Vanitas. Having recently become a Curse-Bearer, Berneux's true name, Bucolicus, fell prey to the Malnomen and became distorted into Loup Garou making him mutate and and lash out and killed nine humans in a bout of uncontrollable thirst - despite it being forbidden to do so. Thomas' actions have since attracted the attention of Vanitas - who was looking into the case and was close to cracking down on Thomas before being contacted by Amelia Ruth about her own illness. Since then, Vanitas has teamed up with a Vampire named Noé and together they returned to the case in order to prove the validity of the Book of Vanitas to Count Parks Orlok by apprehending and curing Thomas Berneux. Thanks to Dante, the two were successful in locating Berneux and ultimately managed to cure him despite being confronted by Jeanne and Luca. Though before he could be apprehended by Orlok's guards, Berneux fled his oncoming conviction. Unexpectedly however, Berneux was murdered by Malnomen before he could be caught by the guards.
