Paracelsus was a human alchemist from Jun Mochizuki's The Case Study of Vanitas. Paracelsus was the father of The World Formula Theory, which lead him down a path in which he would experiment on a large-scale formula in an attempt to rid the world of its sickness and turmoil. This ultimately lead to the calamity known as The Babel Incident, which altered many formulas on a global scale, ultimately giving way to new concepts such as Vampires and Astermite.
